How To Join

Our Joining process is straightforward and can be done online.

To be eligible to join and remain a Member of CMP you will need the following:

  • A segregated client money bank account authorised by the FCA
  • Three months' bank statements from your client account(s) showing all client money transactions for deposits and rents
  • Appropriate professional indemnity insurance for the size of the firm
  • Membership of an external consumer redress scheme
  • Membership of your tenancy deposit protection scheme including a summary of current live protections
  • To agree to abide by the CMP Scheme Rules including the client money handling conditions

Our Simple Joining Process:

We have two Membership options:

Option 1 - Standard Membership

Standard Membership applies to agents that hold up to a maximum of £500,000 in client money at any one time.


£ 299 (plus vat) per application for head office
£ 20 (plus vat) administration fee per additional branch

Option 2 - Non-Standard Membership

Non-Standard Membership applies to agents that do not fullfil the criteria of the standard membership. Please telephone or email CMP so we can discuss your requirements or download the application form and send to CMP.

Part 1 - Application form

You must complete our application form which provides us with details of your business and checks your eligibility.

Part 2 - Questionnaire

Provided the application form is completed correctly we will then send you a financial questionnaire which contains a self declaration for you to complete.

You are now ready to pay & join

Pay for your Membership

If we are satisfied with the answers to your questionnaire then we will contact you to take payment for your membership. There is an annual renewal and fee.
